New Painting PDF Print E-mail
I've started a study for a new painting I'm going to start in the next month or so.  I've had a vague idea of the image in my head for about a month now, and decided last night to pull out my sketchbook and line it out.  The sketch gave by a general idea of the look, and I like it.  I think I'll start a thread in this blog to cronicle my progression. More than likely the next step will be to focus on the features of the image.  The subject matter is a Spanish woman playing a guitar.  It is a heavy-lined abstract piece that I have in mind.  I've gotten the first rough sketch of the case study done, next I'll refine that sketch a couple of times, then I'll probably do seperate focused studies for the major features (the face, the hands, etc.) before I decide on a canvas size and colors (right now I'm thinking this will be a fairly large, and color piece).
